The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nando Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Atilano Telo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. OSASCO FC's Tostão Domingues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Marquez in the 6th minute of play. Nando Sena made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Germano Bertassi sent off a good shot on target. Nando Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Noel Pimenta in the 12th minute of the match. In the 13th minute of the match, Germano Bertassi got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nando Sena was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 15 minutes into the match, OSASCO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nilson Duarte came free, but Tostão Domingues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Germano Bertassi in the 18th minute of play forced Independente FC's goalkeeper Nando Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tostão Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Marquez, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 25 minutes into the match, Independente FC's goalkeeper Nando Sena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Germano Bertassi. In the 27th minute Noel Pimenta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nando Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 37 minutes of play, OSASCO FC's Noel Pimenta made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nando Sena was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nando Sena was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Atilano Telo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 48 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 53rd minute, Germano Bertassi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The OSASCO FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Noel Pimenta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Nando Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Álvaro Matos struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Tostão Domingues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independente FC. Noel Pimenta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 67 played minutes OSASCO FC got a freekick which was hit by Sixto Felipillo. A collision led to OSASCO FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Kjeld Hofgaard hit a great ball. 69 minutes into the match, Hudson Toscano sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Tostão Domingues threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Hudson Toscano this time. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raí Prestes got free with Tostão Domingues in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nando Sena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olov Söder, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 83rd minute Luiz Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tostão Domingues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Independente FC's goal looked a bit too open when Olov Söder came free, but Nando Sena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tostão Domingues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Marquez in the 87th minute of the match. Nilson Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Independente FC booed when OSASCO FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olov Söder didn't get a good kick on the ball.
