In the 16th minute Remo Goiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Helge Hedström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Severino Capixaba kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Helge Hedström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remo Goiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. If Eurico Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute, Project X's Edgar Termander dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

XV de Piracicaba's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Karl-Åke Giliusson ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Project X's corner Karl-Åke Giliusson fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fonso Zotillo quite easily take care of the ball. In the 84th minute of the match Karl-Åke Giliusson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fonso Zotillo skillfully saved the ball. Fonso Zotillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lennart Bäckström in the 85th minute of the match. Project X's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Karl-Åke Giliusson in the 86th minute. It was a well-played corner which Inocencio Valente managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Fonso Zotillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kristoffer Tingelholm in the 89th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, XV de Piracicaba's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Knopek came free, but Fonso Zotillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. XV de Piracicaba had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
