After 24 played minutes Brixton Celtics got a freekick which was hit by CJ Boland. If Oskar Lindqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Keilor Navas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinand Leluțiu in the 27th minute of the match. The supporters of FC Kyustendil booed when Brixton Celtics was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Colin Le Saux didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ferdinand Leluțiu did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Keilor Navas 34 minutes into the match. 41 minutes had been played when some careless play by Brixton Celtics's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Genko Lepoev was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Kyustendil's players had a chance to rest. After a rather tough play, Brixton Celtics's Janusz Pająk got a free kick in the 44th minute. A collision led to Brixton Celtics getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Pat Dry hit a great ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oskar Lindqvist to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oskar Lindqvist in the 53rd minute of play forced Brixton Celtics's goalkeeper Leigh Smith to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
