In the 5th minute Sulo Montaña shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rasmus Sigman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, Sulo Montaña dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rasmus Sigman, 1-0. Rasmus Sigman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Özgür Özbay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to LOI getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Kaan Öztanır hit a great ball. LOI's George Buturugã played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fábio Brites in the 16th minute of play. Rasmus Sigman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ahmet Hamdi Ortan in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Newcastle United F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ahmet Hamdi Ortan was slow to take the kick. During this time LOI's players had a chance to rest. Kaan Öztanır was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Rasmus Sigman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sulo Montaña, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. George Buturugã took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rickard Brodin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute, Tayyip Taylan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 37 minutes into the match, Newcastle United F.C.'s goalkeeper Rasmus Sigman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sulo Montaña. Bengt-Åke Ekerot hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. George Buturugã showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isac Walmarsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fábio Brites in the 45th minute of play forced LOI's goalkeeper George Buturugã to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute, Sulo Montaña ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rasmus Sigman was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fábio Brites stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of LOI booed when Newcastle United F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rickard Brodin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Fábio Brites managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newcastle United F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Fábio Brites was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. George Buturugã breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. LOI walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
