Luisito Quinten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Konstanty Joks in the 9th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN's goalkeeper Cristian Minteuan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcos Berasko. After 18th play minutes Boleslaw Zielinski shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Cristian Minteuan and just under the crossbar into goal. Cristian Minteuan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andréas Stenkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 23 minutes into the match, PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN's goal looked a bit too open when Andréas Stenkvist came free, but Cristian Minteuan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Cesar Remigio could shoot a difficult shot in the 26th minute, which Cristian Minteuan however easily saved by the left post. Cristian Minteuan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andréas Stenkvist in the 30th minute of the match. The supporters of Lyons booed when PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Long Fan Yang didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcos Berasko blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cristian Minteuan having to make a save. After having played for 36 minutes, Cesar Remigio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lyons's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cesar Remigio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 39thth minute of the game Edgar Florescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lyons's Luisito Quinten was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cristian Minteuan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cesar Remigio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Lyons's Boleslaw Zielinski got a free kick in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 51st match minute, Lyons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Du Xi Zhi to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Lyons's Du Xi Zhi got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 57th minute Dariusz Roano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Minteuan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Lyons's Dariusz Roano in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN's goalie prevented a goal. In the 61st minute, Dariusz Roano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 72nd minute, Dariusz Roano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lyons fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Luisito Quinten made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Liviu Găvănescu sent off a good shot on target. Çetin Temizalp hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. After 81 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN! Liviu Găvănescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Luisito Quinten made a huge save. Cristian Minteuan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dariusz Roano, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. The supporters of Lyons booed when PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bünyamin Toygar didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee ended the match the Lyons players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
