In the 13th minute Edison Mauriz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Luiz Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Luiz Sergipano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvinho Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvinho Moraes in the 20th minute of play forced FLU ES fc's goalkeeper Pedro Luiz Sergipano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the game, Tales Almeida was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FLU ES fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave São Wilson the free kick. Edison Mauriz kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Valentin Abastas charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. São Wilson's Shi Feng Yun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilson Xavier in the 32nd minute of play. Pedro Luiz Sergipano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jörg Michael, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. São Wilson's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Paulinho MacLaren in the 45th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gilson Xavier made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Gilson Xavier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pedro Luiz Sergipano made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Osvaldinho Ósvaldsson sent off a good shot on target. 62 minutes into the match, São Wilson's goal looked a bit too open when Gilson Xavier came free, but Shi Feng Yun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Silvinho Moraes could shoot a difficult shot in the 64th minute, which Pedro Luiz Sergipano however easily saved by the left post. Gilson Xavier took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Shi Feng Yun. Shi Feng Yun dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. São Wilson's Gonçalo Reis was substituted for Jörg Michael. São Wilson's Fausto Jayvier was substituted for Enrique Garcia. Pedro Luiz Sergipano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulinho MacLaren in the 81st minute. After a rather tough play, FLU ES fc's Fábio Neto got a free kick in the 83rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulinho MacLaren got free with Pedro Luiz Sergipano in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gilson Xavier scored 2-2 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Shi Feng Yun, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 94th minute, Gilson Xavier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Shi Feng Yun was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2.
