Lucio Afonso came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Colo-Colo's Ivo Basay. But to his dismay, Ivo Basay quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Celedonio Montes's late challenge caught a Colo-Colo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Celedonio Montes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 24th match minute, TALLERES DE CBA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celedonio Montes to maneuver through the defense. If Ivo Basay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eladio Escalona made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antonio Bernard in the 30th minute. Eladio Escalona took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Bernard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute, Ivo Basay left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colo-Colo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Lucio Afonso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorio Droguett in the 39th minute of play. Eladio Escalona made an important save on a dangerous shot by Josué Braga in the 42nd minute. A collision led to TALLERES DE CBA getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Emanuele Luzi hit a great ball.

In the 87th minute, Ronaldo Pika left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net.
