Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Silverio Tuste in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tiburcio Guerrero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 8 minutes into the match, Newells Old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Jacek Siekierski came free, but Serafino Jurdan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Newells Old Boys's Cristian Calderon was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tiburcio Guerrero in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Cristian Blanco succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 13th playminute. Silverio Tuste might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tiburcio Guerrero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Silverio Tuste ran back to his position shaking his head. Serafino Jurdan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Walkowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 21st minute of the game. One of Newells Old Boys:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of LOTOS WARSZAWA:s goal. Newells Old Boys:s Serafino Jurdan showed great skill when he stopped Jacek Siekierski:s penalty. In the 22nd minute, Jacek Siekierski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Serafino Jurdan was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 26th match minute, LOTOS WARSZAWA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wincenty Jaszynski to maneuver through the defense. André-Pierre Gignac blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tiburcio Guerrero having to make a save. 28 minutes into the match, Mehmet Çağrı Yoran notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of LOTOS WARSZAWA's Tiburcio Guerrero. Tiburcio Guerrero was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tiburcio Guerrero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Blanco in the 32nd minute. 34 minutes into the match, Cristian Blanco notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of LOTOS WARSZAWA's Tiburcio Guerrero. Tiburcio Guerrero was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Serafino Jurdan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacek Siekierski in the 37th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in LOTOS WARSZAWA's zone, Cristian Blanco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiburcio Guerrero came out of the goal and Cristian Blanco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Blanco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiburcio Guerrero having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Mehmet Çağrı Yoran could shoot a difficult shot in the 45th minute, which Tiburcio Guerrero however easily saved by the left post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.
Newells Old Boys made a substitution. Joaquin Jerrald replaced Cesar Cordairo. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jacek Siekierski made a kick off. 56 minutes into the match, LOTOS WARSZAWA's goal looked a bit too open when Elias Medeiros came free, but Tiburcio Guerrero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, LOTOS WARSZAWA's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Blanco came free, but Tiburcio Guerrero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiburcio Guerrero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 69th minute, André-Pierre Gignac ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tiburcio Guerrero was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-1. LOTOS WARSZAWA's Hugon Malik was substituted for Ignacy Puszynski. After having played for 74 minutes, Mehmet Çağrı Yoran managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newells Old Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mehmet Çağrı Yoran was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Medeiros in the 77th minute of play forced LOTOS WARSZAWA's goalkeeper Tiburcio Guerrero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiburcio Guerrero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Blanco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. LOTOS WARSZAWA's Witomir Gruchacz was substituted for Wincenty Jaszynski. Newells Old Boys were awarded a corner in the 81th minute after LOTOS WARSZAWA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Elias Medeiros took the corner.
