Cesar Cordairo hit a great ball. 18 minutes in the game Claudinho de Lara did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Jim Morrison. 20 minutes into the match, Newells Old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Jim Morrison came free, but Serafino Jurdan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Newells Old Boys's Serafino Jurdan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jim Morrison in the 21st minute of play. Newells Old Boys's attack was well implemented in the 28th minute, but when Silverio Tuste was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. In the 30th minute, Jim-André Morrison hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bizen Viesca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Blanco in the 31st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Cristian Blanco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newells Old Boys's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Blanco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bizen Viesca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Silverio Tuste sped through Jim MorrisoN F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bizen Viesca. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Silverio Tuste in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bizen Viesca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silverio Tuste in the 35th minute of play forced Jim MorrisoN F.C.'s goalkeeper Bizen Viesca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 37 minutes, Silverio Tuste managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newells Old Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silverio Tuste was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bizen Viesca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silverio Tuste in the 39th minute of play. If Silverio Tuste had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cesar Cordairo made in the 46th minute of the game a quick throw-in and André-Pierre Gignac immediately put the ball in play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Silverio Tuste was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Jim MorrisoN F.C. defense, Cristian Blanco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bizen Viesca. The Jim MorrisoN F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bizen Viesca should have stopped the shot. Newells Old Boys's Silverio Tuste got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bizen Viesca came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Newells Old Boys's Silverio Tuste. But to his dismay, Silverio Tuste quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 75th minute Cristian Blanco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bizen Viesca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 76 played minutes Newells Old Boys got a freekick which was hit by André-Pierre Gignac. Cristian Blanco might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bizen Viesca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Blanco ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Silverio Tuste in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bizen Viesca saved Jim MorrisoN F.C. from getting behind. In the 84th match minute, Newells Old Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquin Jerrald to maneuver through the defense. Joaquin Jerrald hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Jim Morrison could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Serafino Jurdan made a huge save. Jim MorrisoN F.C. were awarded a corner in the 87th minute after Newells Old Boys's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Albertinho Hermes took the corner. A collision led to Jim MorrisoN F.C. getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Jim-André Morrison hit a great ball. Bizen Viesca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silverio Tuste, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joaquin Jerrald kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Newells Old Boys's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
