Cleto Peyo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogelio Sotil in the 5th minute of the match. Valter Ilmatark made in the 8th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Carmine Di Paola immediately put the ball in play. If Miroslav Pernický had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mário Súľovský acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 14th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Fred Davus. 18 minutes into the match, Miroslav Pernický had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mário Súľovský. Estudiantes de La Plata's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Miroslav Pernický was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Jiří Lupač's late challenge caught a Estudiantes de La Plata's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jiří Lupač helped the player get up and apologised. Estudiantes de La Plata's Joel Barco was substituted for Carmine Di Paola. Mário Súľovský made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Miroslav Pernický sent off a good shot on target. 29 minutes into the game, Miroslav Pernický cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Mário Súľovský was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Seber Piñera made in the 33rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Joel Barco however managed to control. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miroslav Pernický in the 39th minute of play forced Estudiantes de La Plata's goalkeeper Mário Súľovský to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miroslav Pernický received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Mário Súľovský tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cleto Peyo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogelio Sotil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Mário Súľovský managed to avoid a goal in the 46thth minute, when FK Řitka's Miroslav Pernický fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Albino Viviano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Miroslav Pernický left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FK Řitka fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. In the 58th minute, Albino Viviano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Seber Piñera got a throw-in 73 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Joel Barco. The corner led FK Řitka's Eduard Kopecký to fire away a dangerous shot which Mário Súľovský despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Agostinho Vidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mário Súľovský took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agostinho Vidal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nereo Presebal made in the 86th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Florentino Rodas immediately put the ball in play. Agostinho Vidal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Súľovský having to interfere. The throw-in from Nereo Presebal in the 93rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by FK Řitka's Cyril Štěpaník. Mário Súľovský didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agostinho Vidal went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score.
