Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Segundo Abecia to make the kick off. If Rene Rostholm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Randers A.F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rodrigo Tome in the 73rd minute. The corner led Randers A.F.C.'s Rodrigo Tome to fire away a dangerous shot which Efraín Zercalde despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rene Rostholm in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Efraín Zercalde prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rene Rostholm might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Efraín Zercalde. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rene Rostholm ran back to his position shaking his head. Efraín Zercalde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Rostholm in the 76th minute of play. Rene Rostholm's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Efraín Zercalde read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Bruno Steenbeck struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Efraín Zercalde didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Randers A.F.C..
