Matheus Netos short, quick shot in the 3rdth minute got Falcão Sampaio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Nelsinho Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erasmo Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Falcão Sampaio came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Vascogoianiense FC's Aírton Sousa. But to his dismay, Aírton Sousa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 13 minutes into the match, Grentino FC's goal looked a bit too open when Matheus Neto came free, but Falcão Sampaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquin Xacintu in the 14th minute of play forced Vascogoianiense FC's goalkeeper Nelsinho Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dorian Quirino hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 18th minute Gualter Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelsinho Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Vascogoianiense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gualter Sampaio came free, but Nelsinho Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vascogoianiense FC's Nelsinho Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gualter Sampaio in the 21st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matheus Neto got free with Falcão Sampaio in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 24th minute Gualter Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelsinho Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquin Xacintu hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Grentino FC's Falcão Sampaio got control of the ball when Matheus Neto tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Grentino FC's zone, Matheus Neto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Falcão Sampaio came out of the goal and Matheus Neto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 32 minutes into the game, Vascogoianiense FC's Aírton Sousa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Falcão Sampaio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Matheus Neto took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Falcão Sampaio to make any attempt to save it. In the 38th minute of the match, Matheus Neto tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Falcão Sampaio saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Nelsinho Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erasmo Simão in the 41st minute of play. Matheus Neto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Falcão Sampaio made a huge save. Matheus Neto hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Erasmo Simão made a kick off. Falcão Sampaio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Matheus Neto went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. When the match clock showed 55 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Aírton Sousa sped through Grentino FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Falcão Sampaio. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fedor Delafosse during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 58th match minute, Grentino FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fedor Delafosse to maneuver through the defense. Matheus Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vascogoianiense FC made a substitution. Edmílson Fernandez replaced Sidnei Leão. Vascogoianiense FC's Carlos Eduardo Sergipano was substituted for Bebeto Leal. Falcão Sampaio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matheus Neto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grentino FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
