In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pinhote FC's goalkeeper Joacim First, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Joacim First made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Verón in the 19th minute of play. After 19th play minutes Radomil Mietus shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Joacim First and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 30th match minute, Club Sportivo Quilmes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Ladio to maneuver through the defense. Sílvio Luís Ceresso struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Pastor Firman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pinhote FC. After the first half Club Sportivo Quilmes were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Radomil Mietus made the kick off in the second half. In the 62nd minute of the match Club Sportivo Quilmes got a corner. Pinhote FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Waldemar Przybylo ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Club Sportivo Quilmes's corner Waldemar Przybylo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Joacim First quite easily take care of the ball. After a rather tough play, Club Sportivo Quilmes's Emanuel Ladio got a free kick in the 66th minute. Club Sportivo Quilmes's Wlodzimierz Absolwent was substituted for Waldemar Przybylo.
