Emilio Machado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ciccio Tacconi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Werneck FC - DMZ's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joélson Amaral in the 16th minute. After taking down the ball on Werneck FC - DMZ's corner Joélson Amaral fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ciccio Tacconi quite easily take care of the ball. After 18 minutes of play, NFC Eagles 22's Ron Moermans made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Felix Donciu was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Machado in the 23rd minute of play forced NFC Eagles 22's goalkeeper Ciccio Tacconi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of NFC Eagles 22 booed when Werneck FC - DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murillo Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 25 played minutes Werneck FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Murillo Fontes. NFC Eagles 22's Ted Jansen was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Felix Donciu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emilio Machado was the one to do the kick off. Werneck FC - DMZ's Murillo Fontes quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ted Jansen, made in the 54th minute of the game. 57 minutes into the match, Werneck FC - DMZ's goalkeeper Felix Donciu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by 盛世 高文竞. After 60 played minutes Werneck FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Joélson Amaral. Werneck FC - DMZ's Zé Paulo Luz was substituted for Sebastian Kiszkiel. Ciccio Tacconi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joélson Amaral in the 73rd minute of the match.
