The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Inocencio Guerrero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Ovidiu Cosâmbescu made a huge save. After 5 minutes, Luisão Romero made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Basavilbaso FC's Orvar Bäckström tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Orvar Bäckström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisão Romero in the 7th minute of play. In the 8th minute Romos FC were awarded a corner. Wu Cheng De went to the cornerflag to take it. 10 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Romos FC's Luisão Romero fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luisão Romero in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Orvar Bäckström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Romos FC were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after Basavilbaso FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Wu Cheng De took the corner. In the 13th match minute, Romos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silviu Potocianu to maneuver through the defense. Basavilbaso FC's Orvar Bäckström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisão Romero in the 15th minute of play. If Eric Şerbănescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romos FC's Ovidiu Cosâmbescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henric Springfält in the 22nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Luisão Romero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Orvar Bäckström was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. In the 24th minute Luisão Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orvar Bäckström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luisão Romero took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Orvar Bäckström. Orvar Bäckström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luisão Romero in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Orvar Bäckström saved Basavilbaso FC from getting behind. When Romos FC's Luisão Romero in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Basavilbaso FC's goalie prevented a goal. Orvar Bäckström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisão Romero in the 33rd minute of play. If Clemente Rubio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute of the match Romos FC got a corner. Basavilbaso FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wu Cheng De ran over to the corner to take the kick. 45 minutes into the game, Luisão Romero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Orvar Bäckström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Orvar Bäckström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luisão Romero's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luisão Romero was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Romos FC booed when Basavilbaso FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henric Springfält didn't get a good kick on the ball. 52 minutes into the match, Luisão Romero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Orvar Bäckström. Basavilbaso FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luisão Romero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clemente Rubio in the 56th minute of play forced Romos FC's goalkeeper Ovidiu Cosâmbescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Basavilbaso FC's Orvar Bäckström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisão Romero in the 59th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Romos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Clemente Rubio came free, but Ovidiu Cosâmbescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 61 minutes into the game, Romos FC's Luisão Romero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Orvar Bäckström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Romos FC's Ovidiu Cosâmbescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henric Springfält in the 65th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Stavros Forakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eric Şerbănescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orvar Bäckström having to interfere. Orvar Bäckström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisão Romero, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Gabriel-Alejandro Cristian notched a goal, 0-7, to the right of Basavilbaso FC's Orvar Bäckström. Orvar Bäckström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 86thth minute of the game Luisão Romero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Basavilbaso FC's Orvar Bäckström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With his leg Orvar Bäckström managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when Romos FC's Luisão Romero fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Henric Springfält sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 96 minutes, the score became 0-8 when Luisão Romero sped through Basavilbaso FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Orvar Bäckström. The Basavilbaso FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Romos FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Romos FC.
