Comunardo Longo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Dwyer in the 13th minute of the match. Comunardo Longo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dudley Hadley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Comunardo Longo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grant Willets, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Fiume Veneto's goal looked a bit too open when Grant Willets came free, but Comunardo Longo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Fiume Veneto's zone, Bukay Saka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Comunardo Longo came out of the goal and Bukay Saka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 21 minutes into the game, Heavenly Hooters's Bukay Saka nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Comunardo Longo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Fiume Veneto's Comunardo Longo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dudley Hadley in the 24th minute of play. Comunardo Longo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dudley Hadley in the 27th minute of play. In the 35th minute Dudley Hadley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Comunardo Longo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Heavenly Hooters were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bukay Saka made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Fiume Veneto's Anfilogino Cassone got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Fiume Veneto's Comunardo Longo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Fiume Veneto from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Grant Willets kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Comunardo Longo. That made the score 0-7 in the 56 minute of play. In the 59th minute, Grant Willets ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Comunardo Longo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-8. The audience thought a goal was coming when Martin Dwyer got free with Comunardo Longo in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Comunardo Longo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martin Dwyer in the 73rd minute. Dudley Hadley had several of the Fiume Veneto's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 74 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-10 score and a disappointed Comunardo Longo as he didn't even see the shot coming. Dudley Hadley might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Comunardo Longo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dudley Hadley ran back to his position shaking his head. Heavenly Hooters's Gwyn Bridgeman was substituted for Frank Murray. The audience thought a goal was coming when Grant Willets got free with Comunardo Longo in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Heavenly Hooters booed when Fiume Veneto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilio Esposito didn't get a good kick on the ball. Comunardo Longo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Dwyer in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th minute Dudley Hadley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Comunardo Longo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fiume Veneto's Comunardo Longo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bukay Saka in the 96th minute of play. 97 minutes into the match, Fiume Veneto's goal looked a bit too open when Dudley Hadley came free, but Comunardo Longo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Heavenly Hooters played a much better game than Fiume Veneto and deserved their victory. The Fiume Veneto players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
