The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Burukster's Jeremias Ribeiro got control of the ball when Lisandro Gudesteo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 14 minutes, Jeremias Ribeiro successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Arlindo Aguiar came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Burukster fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arlindo Aguiar couldn't finish the play. 19 minutes into the match, Burukster's goalkeeper Jeremias Ribeiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Niklas Ekeberg. 23 minutes into the match, Burukster's goal looked a bit too open when Leszek Henryk came free, but Jeremias Ribeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Godofredo Maule took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramón Wanchope, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Luís Fábio Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeremias Ribeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niklas Ekeberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Godofredo Maule took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Bitxintxo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 37 minutes into the match, Ramón Wanchope notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of San Martin de Tucumán's Godofredo Maule. Godofredo Maule was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Burukster's Beto Magalhães got a free kick in the 40th minute. Nicasio Jaizki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. San Martin de Tucumán's Godofredo Maule played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Bitxintxo in the 43rd minute of play. In the 46th minute Leszek Henryk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Leszek Henryk in the 52nd minute of play forced Burukster's goalkeeper Jeremias Ribeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the match, San Martin de Tucumán's Niklas Ekeberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jeremias Ribeiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jeremias Ribeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niklas Ekeberg in the 61st minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, Burukster's goal looked a bit too open when Leszek Henryk came free, but Jeremias Ribeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Burukster getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Arlindo Aguiar hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leszek Henryk in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jeremias Ribeiro saved Burukster from getting behind. Jeremias Ribeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niklas Ekeberg in the 78th minute of the match. Ramón Wanchope took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Godofredo Maule. Godofredo Maule dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. In the 86th minute, Nicasio Jaizki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 88 played minutes Burukster got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Bitxintxo. Leszek Henryk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Godofredo Maule made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Ramón Wanchope sent off a good shot on target. After 96 played minutes San Martin de Tucumán got a freekick which was hit by Lisandro Gudesteo.
