The coaching staff of ЦСКА protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Toncho Súrbinski had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to ЦСКА getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Toncho Súrbinski hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the match, ЦСКА's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Speed came free, but Anzhelo Gerushin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anzhelo Gerushin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Calvin Townsley in the 29th minute of the match. Anzhelo Gerushin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Calvin Townsley's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. In the 38th minute Calvin Townsley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anzhelo Gerushin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anzhelo Gerushin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Speed, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute Arturo Normando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anzhelo Gerushin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ЦСКА's Anzhelo Gerushin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arturo Normando in the 43rd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Belcho Hlebarov to strike the kick off in the second half. Jack Potts came free with the goalkeeper in the 53rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Anzhelo Gerushin could save by the left post. ЦСКА's Anzhelo Gerushin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jack Potts in the 66th minute of play. Belcho Hlebarov took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bernardo Abeijon. Bernardo Abeijon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-4. Calvin Townsley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Anzhelo Gerushin made a huge save. Calvin Townsley in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Anzhelo Gerushin, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 77th minute, Gez Little got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ampthill FC's Marcelino Playo was substituted for Gez Little. Anzhelo Gerushin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calvin Townsley, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Calvin Townsley in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anzhelo Gerushin saved ЦСКА from getting behind. Calvin Townsleys short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Anzhelo Gerushin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a little luck, ЦСКА's Anzhelo Gerushin got control of the ball when Jack Potts tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Calvin Townsley's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anzhelo Gerushin was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. In the 92nd minute, Sebastian Speed reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Anzhelo Gerushin. The goal made the score 3-5. When the match was over Ampthill FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ЦСКА throughout the match.
