In the 16th minute Leopoldo Rosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabby Arias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gabby Arias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darryl Buckner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eleuterio Mirande in the 22nd minute of play forced Dep Colonia Avellaneda's goalkeeper Victoriano Bernaldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Eleuterio Mirande came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Ilulea FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eleuterio Mirande couldn't finish the play. After 37 played minutes Dep Colonia Avellaneda got a freekick which was hit by Santo Libertad. In the 46th minute, Eleuterio Mirande made a precise shot to the right of Victoriano Bernaldo. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Darryl Buckner made the kick off in the second half. Victoriano Bernaldo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Pablo Tolino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victoriano Bernaldo having to interfere. A throw-in in the 82nd minute of the game was made by Paulino Pelagius with Viktor Häger as target, who quickly passed the ball forward.
