Spectators: 149 (Terracing: 112, Seating: 34, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Osvaldo Bernat started the match with the kick off. A sloppy throw-in by Juan Lago in the 3rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Stellenbosch's Jesus Paskal. 4 minutes into the match, Stellenbosch's goal looked a bit too open when Geovani Barreto came free, but Pedro Pelayo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juan Fernando Quinteros charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan Fernando Quinteros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Stellenbosch's Juan Fernando Quinteros got a free kick in the 5th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clóvis Alvarenga got free with Pedro Pelayo in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 11 minutes into the game, Stellenbosch's Osvaldo Bernat nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Giuseppe Leite made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 13 minutes, Geovani Barreto made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Stellenbosch's Pedro Pelayo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Osvaldo Bernat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Giuseppe Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldo Bernat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Osvaldo Bernat in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Giuseppe Leite saved Moreto F.C. - Capivari from getting behind. Stellenbosch were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Moreto F.C. - Capivari's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jesus Ofelio took the corner. Juan Lago made in the 25th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Clóvis Alvarenga. 26 minutes into the match, Moreto F.C. - Capivari's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Bernat came free, but Giuseppe Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Giuseppe Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldo Bernat in the 28th minute of the match. Osvaldo Bernat scored 1-2 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Giuseppe Leite, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clóvis Alvarenga got free with Pedro Pelayo in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Stellenbosch booed when Moreto F.C. - Capivari was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caetano de Salles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giuseppe Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldo Bernat in the 38th minute of the match. Moreto F.C. - Capivari's Giuseppe Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldo Bernat in the 41st minute of play. Moreto F.C. - Capivari's Geovani Barreto was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 43rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When Moreto F.C. - Capivari's Clóvis Alvarenga in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Stellenbosch's goalie prevented a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Clóvis Alvarenga made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Juan Fernando Quinteros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 56 minutes into the match, Moreto F.C. - Capivari's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Bernat came free, but Giuseppe Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stellenbosch made a substitution. Luca Savini replaced Severo Mingo. In the 60th minute, Geovani Barreto made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Pelayo. Stellenbosch's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Moreto F.C. - Capivari made a substitution. Agnaldo Marinho replaced Clóvis Alvarenga. Moreto F.C. - Capivari's Glauco de Mendonça was substituted for Betinho Machado. Pedro Pelayo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agnaldo Marinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Agnaldo Marinho in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Pelayo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Moreto F.C. - Capivari were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after Stellenbosch's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Geovani Barreto took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Geovani Barreto got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pedro Pelayo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 72 minutes into the game, Mao Zhen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stellenbosch's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Moreto F.C. - Capivari the free kick. A collision led to Stellenbosch getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Laureano Gora hit a great ball. In the 80th minute, Stellenbosch's Flóki Cabezudo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Giuseppe Leite. Giuseppe Leite yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-4. 84 minutes into the match, Moreto F.C. - Capivari's goal looked a bit too open when Flóki Cabezudo came free, but Giuseppe Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Moreto F.C. - Capivari's attentive Glauco de Mendonça managed to snatch the ball when Mao Zhen made a throw-in in the 89th minute of the game. 93 minutes into the game, Glauco de Mendonça threw the ball into play from the sideline. Stellenbosch's Jesus Ofelio quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 95th minute Agnaldo Marinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Pelayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Stellenbosch supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Stellenbosch would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
