After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geovani do Nascimento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Răzvan Fințescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jens Björling in the 52nd minute of play. In the 78th minute Jens Björling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Răzvan Fințescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lunáticos FC's Răzvan Fințescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berto Romero in the 80th minute of play. Jens Björling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Răzvan Fințescu having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Berto Romero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Tord Gustafsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tord Gustafsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Răzvan Fințescu having to make a save. In the 87th match minute, Lunáticos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Pedro Ribeiro to maneuver through the defense. If Tord Gustafsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tord Fors was out of position in the 95 minute of play, and Walmir Britto capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Walmir Britto really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Although Smurfarna had been in control for most of the match, Lunáticos FC still came away with the win.
