FC Bourgas's Filcho Mavrikov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luke Clist in the 3rd minute of play. Valdir Lopes hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iliyan Praskov in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Régis de Queirós prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, FC Bourgas's Minko Velkushanov got a free kick in the 10th minute. With an all-out effort, Palmeiras's Filcho Mavrikov threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luke Clist, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 17th minute of the match, Qarabulud La Forgia got a very nice opportunity to score, but Filcho Mavrikov was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kamen Kudev in the 33rd minute of play forced Palmeiras's goalkeeper Régis de Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 43 minutes into the match, FC Bourgas's goalkeeper Filcho Mavrikov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Qarabulud La Forgia. Filcho Mavrikov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Donato in the 44th minute of the match. Palmeiras made a substitution. Waldemar Jacinto replaced Michel Sergipano. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iliyan Praskov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Luke Clist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Filcho Mavrikov was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. In the 61st minute, Kamen Kudev made a precise shot to the right of Régis de Queirós. Palmeiras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Filcho Mavrikov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Donato, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Palmeiras's Régis de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nasko Ichev in the 76th minute of play. 76 minutes into the game, Nasko Ichev cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Régis de Queirós was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gusmão Bettencourt hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Régis de Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Minko Velkushanov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Bourgas's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Velimir Petzanov in the 86th minute. After taking down the ball on FC Bourgas's corner Velimir Petzanov fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Régis de Queirós quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of Palmeiras booed when FC Bourgas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nasko Ichev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Régis de Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Minko Velkushanov in the 92nd minute of play. Filcho Mavrikov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Qarabulud La Forgia in the 98th minute of play. A collision led to FC Bourgas getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Pencho Nikolkov hit a great ball. In the 99th minute Luke Clist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filcho Mavrikov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The FC Bourgas supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Bourgas would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
