La Para showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcus Östman, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After 27 minutes, Alexander Testa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Lugano and the Swindon Sweden FF players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to FC Lugano getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Alexander Testa hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Swindon Sweden FF's Brian Falck tried to score from far away in the 27th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Swindon Sweden FF's Reynaldo Tino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Lara in the 40th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Fred Lara kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Reynaldo Tino. That made the score 2-0 in the 46 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After a rather tough play, FC Lugano's Cui Cheng Liang got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The supporters of Swindon Sweden FF booed when FC Lugano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmondo Gulli didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Lugano fans cheered their team off the field, for while Swindon Sweden FF had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
