If Bennvar Post had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Klas Bergqvist to strike the kick off in the second half. When the match clock showed 56 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Carlos Alberto Tevez sped through FCPorto's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dewa Cinta. Carlos Alberto Tevezs short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Dewa Cinta to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a little luck, FCPorto's Dewa Cinta got control of the ball when Carlos Alberto Tevez tried to sneak it across the goal line. National Team Cape-Verde's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
