The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Through an outstanding action, after 2 minutes, Honorato Marz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of São Miguel do Oeste.SC booed when San Lorenzo 11 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerardo Rainerio didn't get a good kick on the ball. 6 minutes into the match, São Miguel do Oeste.SC's goal looked a bit too open when Santiago Sidro came free, but Honorato Marz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A well-hit corner resulted in Martin Betadur heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Boğaç Altuncuoğlu in the 12thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Honorato Marz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 13th minute San Lorenzo 11 were awarded a corner. Silvio Asier went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 16th minute Boğaç Altuncuoğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Honorato Marz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silvio Asier made a great header on San Lorenzo 11's corner, it was just that São Miguel do Oeste.SC's Honorato Marz managed to reach the ball for a save. Aurelio Astudillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jamal Roye, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, San Lorenzo 11's Martin Betadur got a free kick in the 44th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jamal Roye to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to São Miguel do Oeste.SC getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Gustavo Scarpa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelio Astudillo having to interfere. After 71 minutes San Lorenzo 11's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Irfan Arnawa who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Jamal Roye got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Aurelio Astudillo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Aurelio Astudillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jamal Roye in the 80th minute of play. São Miguel do Oeste.SC were awarded a corner in the 85th minute after San Lorenzo 11's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Irfan Arnawa took the corner. Gustavo Scarpa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Aurelio Astudillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 92 minutes, Claudio Bucciarelli made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. São Miguel do Oeste.SC's Honorato Marz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Luiz Fábio Luz fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Lorenzo 11's protests and gave Luiz Fábio Luz a yellow card for diving instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
