Atabey Mutlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pipis Karapatakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 13th minute, Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Atabey Mutlu. Atabey Mutlu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. In the 19th match minute, Grêmio FBPA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaká Rot to maneuver through the defense. Atabey Mutlu was a little too slow when Pipis Karapatakis got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 5-0. Atabey Mutlu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Deivid de Sena in the 26th minute of the match. Real Trabzon Sk's Atabey Mutlu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Real Trabzon Sk from getting a goal against them. Pipis Karapatakis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Atabey Mutlu made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eddie Murphy in the 35th minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Jardel Sanches to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Pipis Karapatakis dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Atabey Mutlu, 6-0. After a rather tough play, Real Trabzon Sk's Mark Simon got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 48th minute of the match Grêmio FBPA got a corner. Real Trabzon Sk's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Darío Pereyra ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Real Trabzon Sk's goalie and right to Rafa de Almeida. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Real Trabzon Sk's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 7-0 at half-time.

In the 53rd minute Sefa Tanaltay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jardel Sanches saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adnan Kayıboylu charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adnan Kayıboylu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 56th minute, Adnan Kayıboylu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Sefa Tanaltay fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Trabzon Sk's protests and gave Sefa Tanaltay a yellow card for diving instead. 66 minutes into the game, Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Atabey Mutlu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-0. If Pipis Karapatakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 75 minutes, Pipis Karapatakis made it 10-0 with a short kick to the right side. Real Trabzon Sk's Atabey Mutlu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Grêmio FBPA made a substitution. Eriberto Berger replaced Pipis Karapatakis. When Grêmio FBPA's Eriberto Berger in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Grêmio FBPA fans cheered their team off the field, for while Real Trabzon Sk had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
