The Cavern Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberigo Prosperi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Guilherme Marques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eriberto Arruda kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match.
