Apostol Sokolov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fryderyk Grucza's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Fryderyk Grucza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Apostol Sokolov. Monitor Huáscar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fryderyk Grucza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 21st minute, Aulis Salomaa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 22 minutes into the match, Monitor Huáscar's goal looked a bit too open when Adérito Abreu came free, but Apostol Sokolov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Monitor Huáscar were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after Academia Monte Gordo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Modestio Cañucal took the corner. When Academia Monte Gordo's Fryderyk Grucza in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Monitor Huáscar were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after Academia Monte Gordo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Modestio Cañucal took the corner. In the 46th match minute, Monitor Huáscar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Fallabes to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fryderyk Grucza was the one to do the kick off. Apostol Sokolov made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Adérito Abreu sent off a good shot on target. Monitor Huáscar's Claudio Quiroga got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Monitor Huáscar's Bernardinho Bala was substituted for Paulo Fallabes. Monitor Huáscar made a substitution. Lin Jing Peng replaced Artemio Varas. Mao Zhen Hong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudio Quiroga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mao Zhen Hong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lin Jing Peng in the 65th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Claudio Quiroga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mao Zhen Hong was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Academia Monte Gordo made a substitution. Adélio Infante replaced Fryderyk Grucza. With his leg Apostol Sokolov managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when Academia Monte Gordo's Adélio Infante fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Monitor Huáscar's goalkeeper Apostol Sokolov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Apostol Sokolov was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Damião Pinto. Claudio Quiroga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mao Zhen Hong read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Claudio Quiroga struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Mao Zhen Hong didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monitor Huáscar. The Academia Monte Gordo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Academia Monte Gordo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
