Dick Wennerberg helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to White Hart Lane getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Dick Wennerberg hit a great ball. Kaká Goiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bertil Ekman, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Kaká Goiano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bertil Ekman's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. After some careless play in the Paulista F.C defense, Bertil Ekman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kaká Goiano. The Paulista F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kaká Goiano should have stopped the shot. In the 20th minute, Jorma Jääskeläinen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The White Hart Lane fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Bertil Ekman put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Kaká Goiano. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bertil Ekman in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kaká Goiano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 39 minutes into the game, Bertil Ekman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Kaká Goiano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kaká Goiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dick Wennerberg in the 45th minute of play. White Hart Lane's Jorma Jääskeläinen got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedro Augusto Dionísio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bertil Ekman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of White Hart Lane booed when Paulista F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adhemar Lucas didn't get a good kick on the ball. But to his dismay, Jorma Jääskeläinen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-9. Dick Wennerberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kaká Goiano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Bertil Ekman put it in 0-10 from a short distance just to the right of Kaká Goiano. Jorma Jääskeläinen was extremely unlucky when he, in the 72nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Dick Wennerberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bertil Ekman in the 79thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Kaká Goiano, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 82nd minute, White Hart Lane's Bertil Ekman dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-12. With his leg Kaká Goiano managed to avoid a goal in the 89thth minute, when White Hart Lane's Bertil Ekman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 91st match minute, White Hart Lane was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bertil Ekman to maneuver through the defense. The Paulista F.C fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. White Hart Lane were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
