Botafogo AP's supporters crossed their fingers, but René Houseman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tony de Sena came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Botafogo AP's René Houseman. But to his dismay, René Houseman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 17th minute, Ademir de Almeida reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tony de Sena. The goal made the score 2-0. A collision led to Botafogo AP getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Gugu Neves hit a great ball. Gugu Simões might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tony de Sena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gugu Simões ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 23rd minute, Tomás Madureira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpected shot in the 24th minute by Ademir de Almeida got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 25 minutes into the match, Gugu Simões had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tony de Sena. Sandinense ADF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gugu Simões was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Botafogo AP were awarded a corner in the 31th minute after Sandinense ADF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ademir de Almeida took the corner. In the 31st minute Ademir de Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony de Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the game, Botafogo AP's René Houseman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tony de Sena made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. With his leg Tony de Sena managed to avoid a goal in the 41stth minute, when Botafogo AP's René Houseman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Toninho Vaz fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sandinense ADF's protests and gave Toninho Vaz a yellow card for diving instead. After 45 played minutes Sandinense ADF got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Vaz. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for René Houseman to strike the kick off in the second half. Rodriguinho Dias kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sandinense ADF's goalkeeper Tony de Sena, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Botafogo AP were awarded a corner in the 65th minute after Sandinense ADF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ademir de Almeida took the corner. Tony de Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from René Houseman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the match, Sandinense ADF's goal looked a bit too open when René Houseman came free, but Tony de Sena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gugu Simões struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Tony de Sena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Botafogo AP. Sandinense ADF's Tony de Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ademir de Almeida in the 72nd minute of play. In the 74th minute, René Houseman made a precise shot to the right of Tony de Sena. Sandinense ADF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. Gugu Simões struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Tony de Sena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Botafogo AP. The audience was convinced that René Houseman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tony de Sena was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. In the 82nd minute, Ademir de Almeida made a precise shot to the right of Tony de Sena. Sandinense ADF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. Botafogo AP made a substitution. Fritz Ernst Joinvilense replaced René Houseman. Botafogo AP's Jânio Abreu was substituted for Gugu Neves. Fritz Ernst Joinvilense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tony de Sena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Fritz Ernst Joinvilense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Toninho Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maicon Perez charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maicon Perez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 95 played minutes Botafogo AP got a freekick which was hit by Maicon Perez. When the referee ended the match the Botafogo AP players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
