In the 15th match minute, Botafogo AP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laerte de Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. 19 minutes into the game, Gimnasia y tiro's Reynaldo Montrelle nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alan do Vale made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Reynaldo Montrelle scored 0-4 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alan do Vale, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 25 minutes into the match, Gimnasia y tiro's Reynaldo Montrelle sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alan do Vale narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, Reynaldo Montrelle notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Botafogo AP's Alan do Vale. Alan do Vale was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Gimnasia y tiro fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Gimnasia y tiro's Reynaldo Montrelle looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gimnasia y tiro's Batuhan Modrić was substituted for Reynaldo Montrelle. The wind increased when René Houseman made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Botafogo AP defense, Batuhan Modrić kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alan do Vale. The Botafogo AP fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alan do Vale should have stopped the shot. 57 minutes into the game, Batuhan Modrić cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-11. Alan do Vale was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gugu Neves during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 60th match minute, Botafogo AP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gugu Neves to maneuver through the defense. Ariel Valiente recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gimnasia y tiro's Bernardino Quintin was substituted for Stratos Karatzas. Alan do Vale made an important save on a dangerous shot by Esben Nordborg in the 70th minute. 74 minutes into the match, Batuhan Modrić notched a goal, 0-14, to the right of Botafogo AP's Alan do Vale. Alan do Vale was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 78 minutes into the match, Botafogo AP's goal looked a bit too open when Batuhan Modrić came free, but Alan do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Botafogo AP's goalkeeper Alan do Vale, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 93 minutes had been played when some careless play by Botafogo AP's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Esben Nordborg was slow to take the kick. During this time Gimnasia y tiro's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Esben Nordborg got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Alan do Vale quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Botafogo AP's Alan do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Batuhan Modrić in the 94th minute of play. After having played for 96 minutes, Batuhan Modrić managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gimnasia y tiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Batuhan Modrić was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gimnasia y tiro's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
