The mood of the audience was pleasant when Krzysztof Sliwinski made the kick off which started today's match. A collision led to Sydney FC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Ludwig Hanstein hit a great ball. In the 5th minute Jerzy Urban shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Titz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 1. FC Krotoszyn's Jerzy Urban got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sebastian Titz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Krzysztof Sliwinski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute 1. FC Krotoszyn were awarded a corner. Jerzy Urban went to the cornerflag to take it. 14 minutes into the match, 1. FC Krotoszyn's goalkeeper Cengizhan Şahistan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emanuel Ogășanu. In the last second Cengizhan Şahistan throw himself and got hold of the ball when Emanuel Ogășanu in the 14thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. The audience was convinced that Emanuel Ogășanu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cengizhan Şahistan was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Sydney FC's Emanuel Ogășanu managed to work through 1. FC Krotoszyn's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Emanuel Ogășanu dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. If Krzysztof Sliwinski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. Cengizhan Şahistan made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Guy Rothe sent off a good shot on target. After 26 minutes, Emanuel Ogășanu made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. 1. FC Krotoszyn's Cengizhan Şahistan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Cengizhan Şahistan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Önder Cebi in the 30th minute of the match. With a little luck, 1. FC Krotoszyn's Cengizhan Şahistan got control of the ball when Emanuel Ogășanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. 35 minutes into the game, Önder Cebi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Cengizhan Şahistan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Guy Rothe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Cengizhan Şahistan made a huge save. In the 41st minute of the match Sydney FC got a corner. 1. FC Krotoszyn's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ferdinand Mendy ran over to the corner to take the kick. Cengizhan Şahistan came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Sydney FC's Önder Cebi. But to his dismay, Önder Cebi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Cengizhan Şahistan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emanuel Ogășanu in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emanuel Ogășanu was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, 1. FC Krotoszyn's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Ogășanu came free, but Cengizhan Şahistan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Krotoszyn's Cengizhan Şahistan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelo Milanese in the 77th minute of play. Sebastian Titz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Krzysztof Sliwinski, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. 84 minutes into the match, 1. FC Krotoszyn's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Ogășanu came free, but Cengizhan Şahistan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by 1. FC Krotoszyn's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ferdinand Mendy was slow to take the kick. During this time Sydney FC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Ferdinand Mendy got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cengizhan Şahistan quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ferdinand Mendy's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Cengizhan Şahistan - 4-0 was put on the score board in the 85th minute. If Alfred Marke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Ogășanu in the 89th minute of play forced 1. FC Krotoszyn's goalkeeper Cengizhan Şahistan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute, Emanuel Ogășanu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cengizhan Şahistan was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. There was no doubt that Sydney FC were the better team. Sydney FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
