Pedro Paulo de Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guillaume Chaine in the 11th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Valette Stars's zone, Ronaldo Crispín stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrien Tanneau came out of the goal and Ronaldo Crispín tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Paulo de Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillaume Chaine, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Guillaume Chaine scored 0-2 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Paulo de Azevedo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 25th minute, Guillaume Chaine ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Paulo de Azevedo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Pedro Paulo de Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafail Rusev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute Ronaldo Crispín shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrien Tanneau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valette Stars's Adrien Tanneau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldo Crispín in the 36th minute of play. After having played for 38 minutes, Rafail Rusev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valette Stars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafail Rusev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pedro Paulo de Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guillaume Chaine in the 42nd minute of play. In the 44th minute, Armand Plaza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute of the match Fabian Walme shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pedro Paulo de Azevedo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Valette Stars made a substitution. Theo Chassot replaced Amadeu Martins. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Guillaume Chaine to strike the kick off in the second half. Pedro Paulo de Azevedo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rafail Rusev in the 52nd minute. After a rather tough play, Valette Stars's Guillaume Chaine got a free kick in the 56th minute. Pedro Paulo de Azevedo came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Valette Stars's Guillaume Chaine. But to his dismay, Guillaume Chaine quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. São Paulo F.C.'s Pedro Paulo de Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guillaume Chaine in the 63rd minute of play. In the 65th minute, Valette Stars's Guillaume Chaine ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pedro Paulo de Azevedo. Pedro Paulo de Azevedo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. Dorian Quadros was slow to take the kick. During this time São Paulo F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. In the 88th minute of the match, Guillaume Chaine tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pedro Paulo de Azevedo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. São Paulo F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 89th minute, when Julien Chassot scored to the left of an out of position Pedro Paulo de Azevedo, making the score, 0-7. Pedro Paulo de Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Julien Chassot sent off a good shot on target. Marco Llorienzo's late challenge caught a Valette Stars's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marco Llorienzo helped the player get up and apologised. Marco Llorienzo kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. After 94 played minutes, Valette Stars's Fabian Walme shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pedro Paulo de Azevedo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Valette Stars reached it. Valette Stars's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
