The audience thought a goal was coming when Olgierd Kowalski got free with Marcial Lordi in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 16 minutes into the match, Wu Li Zhi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zbyszko Leper. BYDGOSTIA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wu Li Zhi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The supporters of BYDGOSTIA booed when RIVER was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Oxarra didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, RIVER's goalkeeper Marcial Lordi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Olgierd Kowalski. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olgierd Kowalski got free with Marcial Lordi in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Târban in the 22nd minute of play forced BYDGOSTIA's goalkeeper Zbyszko Leper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcial Lordi was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Nicklas Lindström capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nicklas Lindström really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Olgierd Kowalski took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Marcial Lordi to make any attempt to save it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicklas Lindström got free with Marcial Lordi in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. RIVER's Marcial Lordi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save RIVER from getting a goal against them. Olgierd Kowalski had several of the RIVER's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 34 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-2 score and a disappointed Marcial Lordi as he didn't even see the shot coming. Marcial Lordi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Patryk Zgonina in the 41st minute. Nicklas Lindström scored 4-2 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcial Lordi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice moves Patryk Zgonina could shoot a difficult shot in the 46th minute, which Marcial Lordi however easily saved by the left post. Patryk Zgonina spun around in front of the goal 46 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of RIVER's goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Niki Lauda made a kick off. After 55 played minutes BYDGOSTIA got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Estrela. The supporters of RIVER booed when BYDGOSTIA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabio-Roman Cannavaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the BYDGOSTIA defense, Niki Lauda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zbyszko Leper. The BYDGOSTIA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zbyszko Leper should have stopped the shot. Marcial Lordi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olgierd Kowalski in the 64th minute of play. Marcial Lordi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicklas Lindström, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 66thth minute of the game Olgierd Kowalski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but RIVER's Marcial Lordi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. RIVER's Tobias Esparza was substituted for Eric Târban. BYDGOSTIA's Marcin Prusinowski was substituted for Olgierd Kowalski. A collision led to BYDGOSTIA getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Sebastian Bochynski hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niki Lauda in the 70th minute of play forced BYDGOSTIA's goalkeeper Zbyszko Leper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Fidel Gora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the match, RIVER's goal looked a bit too open when Marcin Prusinowski came free, but Marcial Lordi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tobias Esparza got free with Zbyszko Leper in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcial Lordi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcin Prusinowski in the 88th minute of play. In the 89th minute, Giovanni Lenhardt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sebastian Bochynski took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 90th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcial Lordi. RIVER's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Yu Ran Fan kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. BYDGOSTIA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 93rd minute, when Niki Lauda scored to the left of an out of position Zbyszko Leper, making the score, 4-5. Chants of RIVER echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as BYDGOSTIA had held the ball for most of the match.
