In the 18th minute, Everardo Arias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aureliusz Frankowski was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 21st minute Everardo Arias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aureliusz Frankowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aureliusz Frankowski came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Real Club Celta de Vigo's Everardo Arias. But to his dismay, Everardo Arias quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Everardo Arias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aureliusz Frankowski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Ján Janovský made in the 31st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Real Club Celta de Vigo's Calisto Camacho. Everardo Arias might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aureliusz Frankowski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Everardo Arias ran back to his position shaking his head. Aureliusz Frankowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Everardo Arias in the 32nd minute of the match. Pepe Toxeiro was out of position in the 36 minute of play, and Konstanty Kajder capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Konstanty Kajder really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. In the 40thth minute of the game Everardo Arias who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but APPLE KIELCE 1985's Aureliusz Frankowski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Aureliusz Frankowski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Everardo Arias's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute Real Club Celta de Vigo were awarded a corner. Guillermo Marin went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Guillermo Marin almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but APPLE KIELCE 1985's Aureliusz Frankowski did a great save. 45 minutes into the game, one of APPLE KIELCE 1985:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Aureliusz Frankowski had in the 47thth minute some difficulties stopping Rubén Blanco's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Filip Skrzypek stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Real Club Celta de Vigo's goal looked a bit too open when Konstanty Kajder came free, but Pepe Toxeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
