After a rather tough play, C.S.M. Resita's Rigoberto Block got a free kick in the 9th minute. Garrett Gladu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Quentin Gonzalez in the 10th minute of the match. Quentin Gonzalez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Garrett Gladu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, C.S.M. Resita's Lorenzo Ott got a free kick in the 12th minute. After having played for 12 minutes, Quentin Gonzalez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Maravilla's supporters crossed their fingers, but Quentin Gonzalez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 16th minute Juliusz Szostak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zarando Lastras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Atlético Maravilla's goal looked a bit too open when Chong Lamontagne came free, but Zarando Lastras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After taking down the ball on Atlético Maravilla's corner Honorato Arraz fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Garrett Gladu quite easily take care of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Quentin Gonzalez in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Garrett Gladu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dionisio Hidalgo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Garrett Gladu made a huge save. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by C.S.M. Resita's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Honorato Arraz was slow to take the kick. During this time Atlético Maravilla's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Honorato Arraz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Garrett Gladu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chong Lamontagne made a kick off. A hard shot 54 in the game by Chong Lamontagne from a close distance when the talented Zarando Lastras managed to make a qualified save. Atlético Maravilla's players were relieved.
