With an all-out effort, Armada's Walter Wallander threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Róbert Benkó, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christopher Kock in the 21st minute of play forced Armada's goalkeeper Cristi Miheș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristi Miheș made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filomeno Kauldi in the 25th minute of play. With a little luck, JKs Talanger's Walter Wallander got control of the ball when Róbert Benkó tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 27th match minute, Armada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ionică Hrandabur to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, JKs Talanger's Filomeno Kauldi tried to score from far away in the 28th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Armada's Cristi Miheș played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Poyraz Özkoc in the 29th minute of play. When David Bitănescu fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Armada's protests and gave David Bitănescu a yellow card for diving instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Christopher Kock made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbert Benkó in the 55th minute of play forced JKs Talanger's goalkeeper Walter Wallander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
