Elpidio Vitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 余义桑 in the 20th minute of play. Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 邵邦沙 in the 21st minute of play. Cristian Naike might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anastasio Ponce. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The audience thought a goal was coming when 邓瑜兴 got free with Elpidio Vitin in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 44th minute, Cristian Naike left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vélez Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. 47 minutes into the match, Vélez Juniors's Cristian Naike sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Anastasio Ponce narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After taking down the ball on Vélez Juniors's corner Santos Fonda fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Anastasio Ponce quite easily take care of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when 余义桑 stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Cristian Naike came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Vélez Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Naike couldn't finish the play. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 76 minutes into the match, 余义桑 notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin. Elpidio Vitin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 79 minutes into the game, Cristian Naike cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-5. Anastasio Ponce was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Elpidio Vitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 余义桑 in the 82nd minute of play. In the 86th minute of the match Vélez Juniors got a corner. 上海江南长兴造船农民工联队's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag.
