The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, Borys Majorski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 1909 Tarnovia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Borys Majorski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Borys Majorski might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sven-Åke Strömqvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Borys Majorski ran back to his position shaking his head. 1909 Tarnovia's Maksymilian Prusinowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save 1909 Tarnovia from getting a goal against them. Zenon Hetman might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sven-Åke Strömqvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zenon Hetman ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cezary Brytan got free with Maksymilian Prusinowski in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 18 minutes FC Star City's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Zdzislaw Biraga who took care of the corner kick. Sven-Åke Strömqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Borys Majorski in the 20th minute of the match. A well-hit corner resulted in Pawel Skonieczny heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The supporters of 1909 Tarnovia booed when FC Star City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dominik Zahemski didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Alexandru Căliman managed to get in a good position for a shot. 1909 Tarnovia's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexandru Căliman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sven-Åke Strömqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of 1909 Tarnovia booed when FC Star City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugeniusz Sroka didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sven-Åke Strömqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Borys Majorski, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute.

1909 Tarnovia made a substitution. Ulryk Podolski replaced Jerzy Grocholski. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cezary Brytan to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barnaba Latkiewicz in the 52nd minute of play forced FC Star City's goalkeeper Sven-Åke Strömqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zdzislaw Biraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sven-Åke Strömqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jakub Gondela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barnaba Latkiewicz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sven-Åke Strömqvist having to make a save. In the 62nd minute Cezary Brytan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maksymilian Prusinowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 63 minutes, Sven-Åke Strömqvist successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jakub Gondela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Sven-Åke Strömqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zdzislaw Biraga succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-1 in the 66th playminute. When Jakub Gondela came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the 1909 Tarnovia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jakub Gondela couldn't finish the play. In the 72nd minute, Zenon Hetman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of 1909 Tarnovia booed when FC Star City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrzej Ankiewicz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sven-Åke Strömqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jakub Gondela in the 75th minute. 77 minutes into the game, Jakub Gondela recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sven-Åke Strömqvist. Jakub Gondela showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. FC Star City's Sven-Åke Strömqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zdzislaw Biraga in the 81st minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC Star City's Eugeniusz Sroka got a free kick in the 83rd minute. 84 minutes into the match, 1909 Tarnovia's Jakub Gondela sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sven-Åke Strömqvist narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 87 minutes into the match, 1909 Tarnovia's goal looked a bit too open when Aleksander Dula came free, but Maksymilian Prusinowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barnaba Latkiewicz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Barnaba Latkiewicz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Åke Strömqvist having to interfere. 1909 Tarnovia's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
