The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, MKS Mazur Ełk's Cezary Sitko got control of the ball when Stavros Tsebelis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cezary Sitko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thalis Karteris in the 8th minute of play. Michelangelo Merganiotis spun around in front of the goal 12 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of MKS Mazur Ełk's goal. Cezary Sitko made an important save on a dangerous shot by Markos Seremetidis in the 14th minute. Cezary Sitko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Markos Seremetidis in the 16th minute of the match. After 16 played minutes AFC Ajax got a freekick which was hit by Omiros Fasoulas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Markos Seremetidis in the 20th minute of play forced MKS Mazur Ełk's goalkeeper Cezary Sitko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AFC Ajax's Akis Sarafis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wincenty Mocko in the 28th minute of play. After 29 minutes, Wincenty Mocko mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MKS Mazur Ełk and the AFC Ajax players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 29th match minute, MKS Mazur Ełk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wincenty Mocko to maneuver through the defense. If Markos Seremetidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, AFC Ajax's goal looked a bit too open when Filipo Inzaghi came free, but Akis Sarafis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of MKS Mazur Ełk booed when AFC Ajax was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stavros Tsebelis didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wincenty Mocko in the 39th minute of play forced AFC Ajax's goalkeeper Akis Sarafis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. MKS Mazur Ełk's Cezary Sitko proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save MKS Mazur Ełk from getting a goal against them. AFC Ajax's Lakis Tsopakis quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Iwan Kolacki, made in the 46th minute of the game. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

AFC Ajax's Bob Marley was substituted for Markos Seremetidis. In the 52nd minute, Bob Marley ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cezary Sitko was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. MKS Mazur Ełk's Cezary Sitko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michelangelo Merganiotis in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bob Marley in the 59th minute of play forced MKS Mazur Ełk's goalkeeper Cezary Sitko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind MKS Mazur Ełk's goalkeeper Cezary Sitko, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Michelangelo Merganiotis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, MKS Mazur Ełk's Ulryk Deput got a free kick in the 98th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. AFC Ajax fully deserved thier win.
