After 5 played minutes Buenaventura FC got a freekick which was hit by Christian Castillo. Frankie Gunn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jairo de Azevedo in the 6th minute of play. Frankie Gunn made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Jairo de Azevedo sent off a good shot on target. Rogério Seco scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlos Eduardo Ramos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Arne Kullander put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Carlos Eduardo Ramos. 23 minutes into the match, Buenaventura FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arne Kullander came free, but Carlos Eduardo Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th match minute, Buenaventura FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kurt Angel to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arne Kullander in the 27th minute of play forced Buenaventura FC's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Leões do Sul 53's goal looked a bit too open when André-Pierre Gignac came free, but Frankie Gunn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But to his dismay, Jairo de Azevedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

The wind increased when Jairo de Azevedo made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Leões do Sul 53's Žygimantas Ivaška got a free kick in the 55th minute. Arne Kullander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Carlos Eduardo Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leonidas Barrera charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonidas Barrera the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 61st match minute, Buenaventura FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonidas Barrera to maneuver through the defense. But to his dismay, André-Pierre Gignac quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. Jairo de Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Frankie Gunn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
