Bornova's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristopher Damian was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The throw-in from Cristopher Damian in the 20th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Bornova's Michal Setara. Clemente Savier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Nafiz Özilter in the 23rd minute of play. After 24 played minutes ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ got a freekick which was hit by Cristopher Damian. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristopher Damian in the 25th minute of play forced Bornova's goalkeeper Sonny Alén to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sonny Alén took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Salas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clemente Savier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Dracena, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Clemente Savier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kamil Momodu in the 37th minute of play. After some careless play in the ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ defense, Kamil Momodu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Clemente Savier. The ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Clemente Savier should have stopped the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 76th minute, Ahmet Nafiz Özilter reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Clemente Savier. The goal made the score 1-2. 79 minutes into the match, Bornova's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Salas came free, but Sonny Alén reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
