Edwin van der Sar came out and tried to block the shot, but Răzvan Jităreanu slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 20th minute. In the 24thth minute of the game Saul Goodman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Olinda FMZ DMZ's Edwin van der Sar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 28 minutes of play, Villa Verde FC's Ale Speed made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. After a rather tough play, Villa Verde FC's Grigore Coroian got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After having played for 47 minutes, Ale Speed managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Villa Verde FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ale Speed was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Villa Verde FC's Saul Goodman got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Clemente Goiano made a kick off. Edwin van der Sar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Saul Goodman's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute.
