The audience thought a goal was coming when Anibal Cordeiro got free with Roque Narvaja in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Victor Vulpăşin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arne Bronco, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Mandiyu's Dalmacio Aztore got a free kick in the 30th minute. Léo Messis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roque Narvaja having to interfere. Roque Narvaja took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anibal Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Deportivo Mandiyu's Roque Narvaja got control of the ball when Léo Messis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anibal Cordeiro took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roque Narvaja. Roque Narvaja dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Deportivo Mandiyu's Chiquito Benítez was substituted for Cesar Teofilio. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Real Còrdoba FC fully deserved thier win.
