As Melfi 1929's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 12 minutes into the match, As Melfi 1929's goalkeeper Alvaro Brandini had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Duarte. Alvaro Brandini made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Duarte in the 15th minute. Breno Salgado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of As Melfi 1929 booed when Morro Grande E.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Pernambucano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maurício Linhares hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Amerigo Marcon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emiliano Cinalli was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Enzo Di Croce hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luisinho Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alvaro Brandini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tarcisio Cabral in the 56th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Morro Grande E.C's Cristian Duarte sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alvaro Brandini narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 65th minute, Dave Padula hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Clóvis Motta was a little too slow when Emiliano Cinalli got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 1-1. Alvaro Brandini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Luisinho Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Alvaro Brandini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luisinho Silva kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Clóvis Motta was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Emiliano Cinalli showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 87 minute of play. Alvaro Brandini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Duarte in the 91st minute of the match. Tarcisio Cabral charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tarcisio Cabral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of As Melfi 1929 booed when Morro Grande E.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarcisio Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. As Melfi 1929 played a much better game than Morro Grande E.C and deserved their victory. The Morro Grande E.C players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
