Hermengildo Cordeara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teo Pacorro having to interfere. 俞锋烽 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Raúl Riquelme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Inter Miami CF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Enzo Iago in the 18th minute. The corner led to Inter Miami CF's Juan Raúl Riquelme getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Julio Errando kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Inter Miami CF's Teo Pacorro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Inter Miami CF from getting a goal against them. Amado Muc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Teo Pacorro managed to avoid a goal in the 27thth minute, when NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Leo Lore fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Juan Raúl Riquelme managed to get in a good position for a shot. Inter Miami CF's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan Raúl Riquelme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. 俞锋烽 breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 30th minute, Hermengildo Cordeara reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Teo Pacorro. The goal made the score 2-0. Teo Pacorro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermengildo Cordeara in the 47th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hermengildo Cordeara to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Leo Lore managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leo Lore was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of NEWELL´S OLD BOYS booed when Inter Miami CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Errando didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teo Pacorro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermengildo Cordeara, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute.
