Atlético Zelaya's Santiago Gaizko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandinho Albuquerque in the 31st minute of play. Marcelinho Abraão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roman Riquelme in the 37th minute of the match. Rafael Godoi charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rafael Godoi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 39th match minute, Karaboudjan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Godoi to maneuver through the defense. Marcelinho Abraão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. 72 minutes into the game, Karaboudjan's Fernandinho Albuquerque nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Santiago Gaizko made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yuri Teixeira in the 79th minute of play forced Atlético Zelaya's goalkeeper Santiago Gaizko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raimundo Playo lost his temper 80 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card.
