Anton Bârsan started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Cercadinho's goal looked a bit too open when Anton Bârsan came free, but Rogério Ceni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anton Bârsan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rogério Ceni read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anton Bârsan in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rogério Ceni prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lechuguitas F.C.'s Cesare Cardillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Pirani in the 20th minute of play. Lechuguitas F.C.'s Amerigo Cilli quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Dito Tasso, made in the 26th minute of the game. Anton Bârsan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anton Bârsan in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rogério Ceni prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 39 minutes Cercadinho's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Anton Bârsan who took care of the corner kick. Rogério Ceni didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arnulfo Tercero went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After having played for 46 minutes, José Paulo Mello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cercadinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Paulo Mello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. José Paulo Mello was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Cercadinho booed when Lechuguitas F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laureano Dimas didn't get a good kick on the ball. 55 minutes into the match, Lechuguitas F.C.'s Anton Bârsan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rogério Ceni narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 61 minutes into the game, Anton Bârsan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Rogério Ceni was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cesare Cardillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Paulo Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnulfo Tercero might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rogério Ceni. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arnulfo Tercero ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 70th minute, Anton Bârsan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rogério Ceni was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Paulo Mello in the 74th minute of play forced Lechuguitas F.C.'s goalkeeper Cesare Cardillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute Anton Bârsan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério Ceni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Lechuguitas F.C.'s Anton Bârsan in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Lechuguitas F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Anton Bârsan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rogério Ceni having to make a save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lechuguitas F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cercadinho had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
