The AFK Petržalka fans' excitement grew in the 3rd match minute when AFK Petržalka's Michal Hudák looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Michal Hudák took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Yanko Milakiev. Yanko Milakiev dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 11thth minute of the game Michal Hudák who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The Institute's Yanko Milakiev was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The corner went over the outstretched arms of The Institute's goalie and right to Baran Gayret. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. The Institute's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Rusi Zabunov charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rusi Zabunov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Michal Hudák might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yanko Milakiev. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Michal Hudák ran back to his position shaking his head. The Institute's Yanko Milakiev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michal Hudák in the 17th minute of play. Yanko Milakiev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michal Hudák in the 22nd minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Michal Hudák notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of The Institute's Yanko Milakiev. Yanko Milakiev was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Yanko Milakiev came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by AFK Petržalka's Michal Hudák. But to his dismay, Michal Hudák quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Yanko Milakiev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michal Hudák, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Yanko Milakiev didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Michal Hudák went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. After 36 minutes of play, AFK Petržalka's Michal Hudák made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Yanko Milakiev was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the The Institute defense, Michal Hudák kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yanko Milakiev. The The Institute fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yanko Milakiev should have stopped the shot. After 42 minutes of play, AFK Petržalka's Michal Hudák made it 0-9 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Yanko Milakiev was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 47th minute, Michal Hudák ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yanko Milakiev was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-10.

In the 63rd minute, AFK Petržalka's Michal Hudák ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Yanko Milakiev. Yanko Milakiev yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-12. 66 minutes into the game, Michal Hudák cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-13. Yanko Milakiev was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 70 minutes into the game, Rusi Zabunov threw the ball into play from the sideline. AFK Petržalka's Peter Pekarík quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When Nedyalko Dobrilov fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Institute's protests and gave Nedyalko Dobrilov a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, The Institute's Nedyalko Dobrilov got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 75th minute Michal Hudák shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yanko Milakiev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AFK Petržalka's Nikola Krstović was substituted for Michal Hudák. After 79 minutes The Institute's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Peter Pekarík who took care of the corner kick. Peter Pekarík made a great header on AFK Petržalka's corner, it was just that The Institute's Yanko Milakiev managed to reach the ball for a save. The Institute's Yanko Milakiev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save The Institute from getting a goal against them. The referee gave AFK Petržalka a penalty, 88 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Richard Zedník, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of The Institute's Yanko Milakiev. 0-16. In the 94th match minute, AFK Petržalka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Obert to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of The Institute booed when AFK Petržalka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 99 match minutes in a wonderful position. Balázs Borbély didn't get a good kick on the ball. The The Institute fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. AFK Petržalka were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
