The audience was convinced that Paulo Laurentzi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jean-Marie Sanquer was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. 25 minutes into the match, Bieito Villaurreta notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Perthes United's Jean-Marie Sanquer. Jean-Marie Sanquer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulo Laurentzi in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jean-Marie Sanquer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Evelio Antoniano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armand Mondon in the 29th minute of the match. In the 48th minute, Perthes United's Starri Pramer seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Starri Pramer the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Perthes United protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Starri Pramer had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Bieito Villaurreta made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Perthes United's goalkeeper Jean-Marie Sanquer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jean-Marie Sanquer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriz Marques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute, Eriz Marques reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jean-Marie Sanquer. The goal made the score 0-5. Criciúma Esporte Clube's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
